Endoscopic resection of early gastric cancer (EGC) has proven safety and efficacy, and is the established standard of care in Japan. In the past decade, it is increasingly established worldwide. The endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is superior to endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) technique as it is designed to provide adequate staging and long-term curative therapy-based on the en bloc R0 specimen irrespective of the size and/or location of the tumor coupled with the reliable pathological specimen. However, ESD is still requiring skilled and experienced endoscopist to perform because of complex procedures, higher complication and causing long-time consuming.
