Carotid-ophthalmic aneurysms are defined as aneurysmal dilation of the supraclinoid internal carotid artery whose neck is attached to the origin of the ophthalmic artery. These intracranial aneurysms are challenging to treat because they are often prone to recanalization after endovascular treatment by conventional coil embolization.1

In recent years, flow-diverter stents have become an important tool in the management of intracranial aneurysms; they are now helpful in the endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms previously considered untreatable.
