In September 2020 the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) produced an updated version of their NG59 guidance "Low back pain and sciatica in over 16s: assessment and management". None of the changes in this version of the guidance relates to examination of the spine. Extensive changes were made in recommendations for drug treatment of back pain and these are relected in our professional Low Back Pain and Sciatica[2] article[1].
