The problem is charging for "training". I have always felt that contact lens fitting included:

1) Measurement and lens selection. 2) Inspection of lens on eye, instruction in care, insertion and removal to the point that the "instructor" has a reasonable assumption the patient can do this at home. Further instruction if needed should the patient feel he cannot. 3) Follow-up visit with observation on the eye for a full day (or 24+hrs with FW or EW modality). 4) Our fees ususally include 90 days free service, follow-up and needed care. 5) Addittional service provided on a fee/service basis as long as patient continues to purchase lenses through us.
