A friend was just telling me about an experience with repeated eye problems (irritation, inflammation, etc) that was finally recognized after multiple visits by a different optometrist who immediately said it was a known problem with the Opti-Free solution, especially when paired with Acuvue Oasys Contact Lenses.

I did some searching online and see a number of reports and complaints pointing to the use of Opti-Free as the culprit. It saddens me a bit because some of the posts from years back are from people asking for help or advice and it seems like people overlook that a particular solution could be causing the problems.

I found this thread[1] from a couple of years back posing the question in the title. My friend above was actually using Opti-Free Replenish with the Oasys lenses because thats what the optometrist suggested. This is the same optometrist that did not recognize that...
